An information session for legislators, professionals, and media

TOPIC: The PACE Initiative to Combat
Predatory Lending

A new NYC initiative called "Preserve Assets and Community Equity" (PACE) has been launched to combat predatory lending, which remains one of the worst injustices facing elderly homeowners, first-time home buyers, fixed-income homeowners, and minority and immigrant homeowners. The comprehensive PACE program includes outreach, education, financial assistance and legal strategies to groups and neighborhoods historically targeted by predatory lenders. PACC is a partner in this innovative city-wide effort to protect vulnerable members of our communities in Brooklyn and across NYC. By dialing 311, residents will soon access reputable community organizations that can help them recognize and avoid predatory scams, and learn how to qualify for affordable financing and lending products. Using this new tool, PACC and our partners in this initiative will more easily intervene and assist homeowners in default or foreclosure.

Join our panel of PACE partners for a timely discussion of predatory lending and new ways to fight it!
